Air Transportation
In anticipation of the number of teams and athletes attending the IAAF World Junior Championships in Moncton, the LOC has been working with Air Canada to ensure that all flight requirements to and from Moncton will be satisfied. Measures have already been put into place by Air Canada, and a system has been developed by the LOC, in order to facilitate the air capacity requirements
Making a reservation for Moncton 2010
It is suggested that persons making a reservation for the IAAF World Junior Championships do so directly with the airline they choose to travel with using the Group Reservation Process provided by the airline. What the Group Reservation System does is create a PNR (Passenger Name Record) in the airline system, which is then directly linked to the capacity control planners for the airline. Once they determine the correct flight that all persons travelling can get on, the information is sent back to the team who made the reservation. For groups/teams travelling together, the benefit of dealing directly with the airline will help to ensure that all persons will be able to travel on the same flight all the way into Moncton.
If the group/team travelling is less than 9 persons, or an individual, travel reservations can be made directly through the airline’s website. If there are capacity issues in booking individual or small group seats, the Local Organizing Committee should be contacted in order to assist in the completion of the reservation.
Provided below is information for Air Canada, who offers service worldwide, is a member of Star Alliance, and has the greatest capacity in travelling to Moncton for the IAAF World Junior Championships in July.
