Athletes Village
Two athletes’ villages are planned during the IAAF World Junior Championships of 2010. One village will be at the Université de Moncton and provide approximately 1,000 beds for one group of athletes. A second village will be organized at Mount Allison University in Sackville and provide approximately 1,200 beds for athletes. This university is located 49 km from the stadium. After July 15, all services will be provided in both athletes villages. Athletes will occupy either single or double rooms.
Athletes’ Village at the Université de Moncton
The athletes’ village at the Université de Moncton will be in operation from July 10 to 28 but from July 10 to 15, only basic services will be provided to accommodate the teams who are arriving earlier.
The Université de Moncton, the only French language University in the region, offers on its main campus near the stadium and warm up sites and within the city itself, a cluster of rooms, studios and apartments spread across nine buildings. The campus is located five minutes by car from downtown, where the IAAF Headquarter hotel (Hotel Delta Beausejour) and the media hotels are located, as well as the major shopping center in Dieppe.
Athletes’ Village at Mount Allison University
Located in the heart of the Town of Sackville, some 49km, or 30 minutes driving, from the Université de Moncton’s stadium via highway, Mount Allison University has a cluster of 12 residential buildings with single or twin-bed rooms in a charming and relaxing atmosphere that is conducive to rest and tranquility.
