Education
Moncton 2010 strongly believes that the IAAF World Junior Championship will provide an exciting opportunity to spread the word about healthy eating, active living and multiculturalism.
The opportunity to watch their peers compete on the world stage will hopefully inspire a greater interest in athletics, and sports in general, among youth in New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada.
Local residents and visitors will be exposed to a truly multicultural atmosphere as athletes, coaches, officials and spectators from across the country and around the world visit Moncton for the Championships. This will provide an opportunity for teaching kids about the 170 different countries who will be represented at the Championships.
Moncton 2010 will spread these messages in two ways. First, through the education program in partnership with regional school boards and secondly through public appearances of the Moncton 2010 mascot, Sporti.
More information on both these programs can be found in this section of the website.
