On the opening night of the 2010 Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships Moncton’s own Genevieve Lalonde won the first gold medal and earned a place on the Canadian world junior championship team.

Leading from the start in the women’s 2,000m steeplechase final she simply ran away with the race.
