Official Languages

The Local Organizing Committee of the IAAF World Junior Championships, to be held in Moncton in July 2010, is committed to hosting an event that respects both of Canada’s official languages, French and English.

The organizing committee is recruiting hundreds of volunteers that will be able to provide services both in English and French. The organizing committee is also committed to the delivery of all material and publications in both official languages, including published documents, advertising, official programming and web site material. On-site announcements, both during competitions and the opening and closing ceremonies will be in French and English. As well, before and during the Championships, all the information published will be available in both official languages. Finally, the organizing committee is committed to presenting cultural events, including the festivals it organizes and which are held on-site, that showcase both official linguistic communities.
