Experience the world… and be a part of the biggest sporting event ever in Atlantic Canada! The IAAF World Junior Championships are coming to Moncton in July, 2010 and the Local Organizing Committee wants to make this the best event yet!

This will truly be a community effort. Already the Local Organizing Committee is working with volunteers from business, cultural, sporting and community organizations across the region. Before the Championships are over, 2,500 volunteers will get involved and be a part of this exciting world class event.

The IAAF World Junior Championships will bring 1,450 athletes, representing 170 countries to Moncton. This will be the largest international gathering ever in the region. Not only will volunteers and spectators get to see the world’s top junior athletes in action, they will enjoy a multi-cultural experience as they interact with people from across the country and around the world.

This event will create amazing opportunities for Moncton and the region as a whole. For one week the eyes of the world will be on Moncton. The Championships will be seen by millions of viewers around the world. During the event, 50,000 spectators are expected to watch the athletes strive for glory live.

Not only will the IAAF World Junior Championships inspire interest in the sport of athletics in this region, it will leave behind a legacy that will help Atlantic Canadian athletes improve their competitive edge.

The expertise gained by members of the Local Organizing Committee and volunteers from all backgrounds will also establish a significant groundwork so Moncton can continue improving its reputation as a city where big things happen.

  • Some presentations may require basic audio/visual and technical support. Please make your event’s technical capabilities clear when booking.
  • The sooner you book the better so we can ensure a speaker is available for your event.
